Greenwood (Rodar)

Ajax , ON
Driving/Parking Instructions:
Park in the small lot North of 5th Concession, just West of the little bridge.
Trail Difficulty:
Trail Length:
12km singletrack
Trail Details:

A quality loop of about 12km starting out from the parking lot, going through some nice old forest and ravine settings. There is a lot double track on the property as well. Until you get to know the property it is easy to miss the entry to the singletrack. Most of the singletrack is intermediate, but some is above. You'll want to have mid-season fitness at least to enjoy this trail system and there is a fair amount of short steep climbing.

Rode greenwood today, I'd say it's about 95% dry on the 14 km I covered.  Low lying areas typically don't dry up until mid May see last image (avoid these areas).  Otherwise good to go.

As a side note I'll probably be doing short Sunday... more

There is a pretty big downed tree in the north-west corner (just west of the double track). It's been there for maybe 5-6 weeks. Not sure if anyone is able to contact the land management team to remove. It kills the flow for both cyclists and... more

DMBA members have been busy building 400 meters of TCT trail at Greenwood. One more build to get it done, Thursday September 29th. That is if we do not get distracted repairing the Gully, again.

Rode the lower part of greenwood yesterday. Lot's of large downed trees everywhere, most of the illegal features have been broken/taken down. Looks like a mess, to be honest. Will try to ride the northern part next time and see if it's any better... more

Hey everyone. I just hit up the greenwood trail on the north side by the main parking lot on concession 5(i did a few laps). It's a bit over grown but the trail is still visible in all areas as long as you don't mind getting your legs smacked by bushes. Some parts near the end are a little washed out by the rain but that just makes it more interesting. Still very rideable and enjoyable. Hope this helps and we can organise some ride up there :)
