An awesome event is looking for some help.  If your aren’t riding the event, and would like to check out the Ganaraska forest, please consider donating a little of your time to a worthy cause.

Greetings and Salutations happy Ganaraska riders …

Things are really starting to roll here at Paul’s HQ.
We have had three losses in our stalwart sweep crew in the last forty-eight hours:
Adam (in the end) can’t get the time off from his new job. (Hey, new Gears shop, What’s with that??)
Ali has crashed and broken her collarbone and
Alex has crashed and requires many stitches and recovery time!
So, we certainly are concerned about a Sweep Deficit!

We have the 15km event covered already, and the 30k is not tough to find folks that want to sweep
But the 100k and the 60k are different stories.
We are looking for more than few good riders who are interested in riding S L O W L Y at the back of the field of riders. As a sweep you need to carry some rudimentary first aid items that we provide, you need to know HOW to use those items. You also must be able to read a map and communicate with folks about where you are if you encounter injured. You should also have some basic bike maintenance abilities (i.e. can fix a flat, put a chain back on, use a tool to straighten handlebars or seats). We always send folks out in teams of two (at least) so if you have some but not all of these skills we will try to pair you up with folks that compliment your abilities.
You don’t have to ride the whole course. …and we give you a tshirt and lunch!
We are looking for experienced riders able to ride some or all of the following:
8am - first 40k of the 100km
noon-ish - next 30k of the 100k
three-ish - last 30k of the 100k
last riders (and the sweeps with them) are expected at the GPF by 5:30 - 6pm
We are also looking for riders able to ride some or all of the following:
11am - first 30k of the 60k
two thirty-ish - last 30k of the 100k
last riders (and the sweeps with them) are expected at the GFC by 5:30 - 6pm.
If you think you might be interested in this amazingly riding intense volunteer position let us know a.s.a.p. It will not be the fastest you’ve ever ridden but it will probably be the longest!
Thanks in advance
