The DMBA was selected by Lake Simcoe Region Conservation to receive a Soil Conservation Award. From the email notifying us:

This is to recognize your organization’s work on mapping , assessing, and coordinating volunteer days to repair problematic trails in the Durham Forest.  Your organization’s efforts have successfully reduced soil erosion on the sandy moraine soil and protected the breeding area of the sensitive and watershed-rare goshawk.

A big thanks specifically to Terry Sinclair for heading up our relationship with the LSRCA, and putting in a ton of time on the ground. I don’t want to forget Stephen Snodden and Mike Danilko for all the support they’ve provided Terry. And lets not forget all those who’ve actually been out on the trail days moving dirt or otherwise lending a hand.
This is the first award that we’ve won, and we should be proud of the fact. Hopefully there are more to come.
