I just got this note from member Ray Pardon:
There will be a public information centre for the Draft Heber Down Conservation Area Management Plan to be held on Wed., July 21st from 4pm to 7pm at Cullen Central Park. More info at CLOCA’s website.
- “biking” will be a sanctioned activity, which is good news
- Crow’s Nest property is mentioned on page 51
- Do a find on “biking” and “trail” to find areas of interest in the 237-page plan
I encourage you to go and show support for the inclusion of mountain biking as well as to take the relationship between the DMBA and CLOCA one step further.
If you do plan on attending please let us know.

I was riding my horse in the Durham Forest today and got totally lost - I parked my truck and trailer at the lot on the 6th concession and couldn’t find my way back. I came across a young man riding a mountain bike and he led me back to a trail that I could follow back to the 6th. It had been thundering and was really dark and I was getting worried and just wanted to put a comment on here to thank him again and to say how nice he was and I’m sure he went out of his way,
