Looking for an event that is a bit different? Then check out the Bike & Beast event. The Uxbridge Horsemen’s Association has held this event for the past couple of years. I’ve talked to a few participants and they say it’s a good time. The way it works is you, as the biker, and an equestrian team up and ride your individual portions of the event in different areas of the Forest.
Proceeds go to Windreach Farms, a working farm for people of all ages and abilities to experience life on a working farm.
- When: Sunday, September 27, 2009, 10am
- Where: Durham Forest, Main Parking lot
- Cost: Collect pledges and donate the day of. Minimum donation of $20 to participate.

The way it works is you, as the biker, and an equestrian team up and ride your individual portions of the event in different areas of the Forest. You each have to retreive 3 ribbons which are then exchanged for playing cards. The best poker hand wins. You can also purchase cards if your hand isn’t very good.
