Our recent build in Durham Forest was a major success. Not only did we get an amazing turn out of 42 people, we got some new members, impressed the land manager, and put 300 meters of new trail on the ground.
The reports from the field are that riders like the trail very much. It is an intermediate trail with lots of twists and turns, not too tight, but not too open either. Just a nice flowy trail to cruise through. As an added bonus there are more than a few log overs to clear. Nothing that isn’t rollable, so it’s a nice introduction for novices.
I’d like to give a big thank you to everyone who came out to help. The LSRCA, Region of Durham, and the others in the Durham Forest Stakeholder group for letting this happen. And Terry and Steve for spending as much time as they did sweating over the layout.
More photos after the jump.
